In 2003, Katie made her first documentary while studying political theory at Rutgers University. Recent work includes, Ordinary People, a documentary film on mass incarceration co-directed and produced with John Legend and Get Lifted Film Company. She is author of a forthcoming political memoir and transplanted from Los Angeles to New York to join the Kunhardt team for an upcoming documentary for HBO.
